Technical Installation Guide
Karmawall Acoustic Liner System
- Fix Speedline RB565 Resilient Bars horizontally across the side of the wall ensuring a minimum clearance of 5mm to all adjacent surfaces. Fix using M6 x 40mm Nail-in Anchors.
- Fix the top and bottom bars first and then working from the bottom up at 600mm centres.
- Friction fit Karmawall Acoustic Slab between resilient bars, cutting where centres are below 600mm.
- Start at the floor level and finishing at ceiling level fix the Karmawall Acoustic Liner Boards to the resilient bars.
- Cut off the overlapping edges which abut to the side wall and floor as required, apply a bead of acoustic sealant to abutting surfaces and fix to the resilient bars using appropriate drywall screws that permeate the liner board and resilient bar without touching the substrate. Apply a bead of acoustic sealant to shiplap edges in order to seal joints.
- Offer up subsequent boards, removing shiplap edges which abut with the perimeter of the wall, once again applying a bead of acoustic sealant to inner shiplap edge.
- Moving from bottom to top and horizontally repeat the process installing boards in a brick pattern with staggered joints ensuring all gaps are closed.
- Seal joints between boards as required with acoustic sealant and tape.
- Seal the perimeter of the build with acoustic sealant.
